Tyler did a fundraiser for the Queen Anne Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. We had both cars in the KMart shopping center with a table set up for meet & greet. Tyler was also letting kids/adults sit in the cars for a donation. That money was given to the folks running the fundraiser. Tyler raised $100 for the American Cancer Society! Tyler qualified fastest again this week, with the track officials trying the European qualifying style of 4 cars getting a total of 5 laps.
With an invert of the top 6 cars, Tyler started 6th. Tyler had made it up to the 2nd place spot, when his car just quit on the backstretch. He was able to make it to pit road, while a caution came out for a spin, keeping him on the lead lap. His Dad
realized quickly that it was a disconnected ignition wire, plugged them back together and Tyler went back out on the track as the green was flying. Having to catch back up to the rest of the pack, Tyler was driving the wheels off the car. He made it back up to the 14th spot (there were 23 cars in the field) when a caution came out at lap 25. At the checker flag, Tyler had finished 7th. He dropped from 1st in points to 3rd but is confident to get that 1st place back soon. There is only 4 points between him and the 2 cars tied for 1st. The day was threatening rain for a good part of the afternoon and evening. I was surprised that we even got to race.

We traveled to Shenandoah Speedway for their Memorial Day race. Tyler qualified 5th of 12 Young Lions, was running in 4th position (the race started heads up) and after a caution was under the 3rd place car to pass and was spun out on the front straightaway. Both cars were put to the rear and with only 5 laps to go he did make it back up the finish in 6th.

Tyler qualified 3rd fastest and started 6th, because he finished 1st the previous week. The race was a good race with Tyler making it to the 3rd position early, fighting to get past the 33 and the o8 who were running 1st and 2nd. Tyler was able to take the lead but on the following lap was overtaken by both cars due to a slight slip up. With about 4 laps to go, Tyler, running in 2nd, tried to pass the 08 for first and it looked as though the 2 bumpers caught and the 08 spun and Tyler was relegated to restarting at the rear of the lead lap cars. He managed to finish 5th.

Tyler Hughes, 2nd fastest qualifier, started in the 6th position and, who has been on a tear as of late, was running second when smoke began to billow out of his Seven Seas Yacht Service machine. He pitted under caution and the crew found that the oil cap had become dislodged. They replaced the cap, but with only ten laps to go, he found himself in the 13th position in the back of the field. But in those ten laps, he was able to work his way towards the front, and salvage a second place finish.
