DNF/17th |
Tyler qualified 6th fastest of 18 cars and started the race in 4th. On the start of the race it looked as though Tyler had motor troubles because he fell to the back fast. Once pit side, a bolt was discovered missing out of the shifter not allowing him to shift into 4th gear. Tyler didn't want to blow up the motor so he pulled the car in to race another day. |

The second 25 lap feature of the evening had Tyler on the pole. With Tyler running in the 2nd position, Rette had his hands full trying to keep Tyler behind him. Tyler gave it all he could and finished the race in 2nd place again. Pulled from the ODS Website: 13-year old Tyler Hughes picked up his first career feature win in the 30-lap Austin Legends feature. Hughes held off 8-time feature winner Rette Causey through most of the event, driving like a true veteran. Causey tried on several occasions to grab the lead, but Hughes was able to hold him off. “This is really worth more than me winning,” Causey said. “To see that kid win was worth a million bucks. That little gnat is a great kid and a great driver’” he added.
